On Sunday, the girl had a friend over. And then another kid called, so she came over too. Because three kids meant that the noise level in the house went up exponentially, I took them all out to a nearby museum. Partly I went because I have a friend who had two little monotypes in a juried show, and I wanted to see her work. But I also really wanted to see the
tree figures by Joseph Wheelwright. They're really cool. Full sized trees,
dug up, judiciously pruned, and set back in the ground, upside-down so that the roots become hair. It'll make you look differently at the forest.
Oh, that's cool!
ReplyDeleteThat's amazing!
ReplyDeleteNo way! Wow.
ReplyDeleteNow THAT might just make pulling a tree out of the ground worth it. But really, what an incredible undertaking.
ReplyDeleteSo. Cool.
ReplyDeleteHuh. I both love that and sort of fear I'm going to have a nightmare about it tonight. Interesting.
ReplyDeleteIt's all been said, but Wow, wow, wow. What a concept and what an amazing execution of it. I bow before Mr. Wheelwright's greatness.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful.
ReplyDeleteI would love to see those in "person."
