SWAYING TREES
Swaying trees
In the breeze
Dance to the rhythm of the wind
Swaying trees
In the breeze
Look like Halloween ghosts
Coming closer and closer until
It catches me!!!

GRAY
Gray is an ugly color
My mom makes me wear it anyway
It's like the gray is pulling me like a vacuum cleaner
I try to get away but I just can't!!!
You mean mother! Making that child wear gray! I love that image of the vacuum cleaner.
ReplyDeleteDon't let her see Oliver. This is my favorite part of the end of the school year -- getting all those things home.
ReplyDeletewow. these are great! word play is so fun. she sounds like a wonderful small human!
ReplyDeleteThese are great.
ReplyDeleteLove the vacuum cleaner bit.
I've got a box that I'm filling with stories and poems just like these that my son has brought home from school. And someday I'll share them back with him.
ReplyDeleteThese are wonderful! Both of them
ReplyDeleteT.
The vacuum cleaner analogy is genius.
ReplyDeletethese are wonderful - thank you for sharing them!
ReplyDeleteThese made me smile.
ReplyDeleteI'm especially amused by the Gray poem. (I wonder how Phoebe feels about gray...)
Gray is priceless. (Even though, it is my favorite color to wear.)
ReplyDeleteYou're so brave, posting about how terribly mean you are! What a tyrant!
ReplyDelete(I'm going to be so sad when my kids learn to spell.)
Hello! I know you don't know me, but we've got something in common. I got your blog address off the Stirrup Queen's blogroll and was wondering if you wouldn't mind helping me help a couple who is trying to add a little one to their family. We're holding a silent auction for them this weekend (Friday and Saturday) on goteamwitt.blogspot.com and need help getting the word out! We would love it if you would spread the word via social media or here on your blog. Additionally, we are always looking for more donations to auction off, so if you or someone you know might be interested in making a donation, all the information is under the donate tab. If you have any questions or would be willing to post a pre-written blog post about the auction and the sponsored couple, please contact Kristin at goteamwitt@gmail.com Thanks in advance for taking the time to consider this!
ReplyDeleteShe already has a great grasp of simile! The vacuum cleaner part just rocks. Tell Miranda that gray looks fabulous when you pair it with orange, turquoise, or hot pink :)
ReplyDeleteLove these poems. Your daughter's quite the budding writer!
ReplyDeleteYour daughter is still in school? My kids are on their 2nd week of vacation. Ah, budget cuts.
