So, in a fit of madness, or (thinks my husband) subconscious evil (because she has the week off and I'm at work all day), I bought the girl a Paper Jamz guitar yesterday. I honestly don't know what possessed me, but lordy me - it ranks right up there in the annoying toy pantheon, and the child loves loves loves it. We have heard the chorus of One Way or Another so many times that I think I'm in college again.
Because I categorically refused to put the batteries into it in the Target parking lot, she was forced to read the packaging in the car on the way home. From the backseat I heard "there's a regular one, and a rock band one, and the one I have, and a vee-shaped one and one shaped like a dress and one shaped like Batman's head."
I'm thinking there's a market for a guitar shaped like Batman's head. Or does one already exist?
Almost got one of these for Red for Xmas. Instead, I got her a purple acoustic guitar. Which she loves to rock out on but mainly my husband plays it for her. Because he can.
ReplyDeleteI think there is a market for Batman but its not as big as the Lego Star Wars market by a mile.
BubTar's cousins pooled their money to buy him one of these for his birthday later this week. I thought that was very sweet. I wonder if it will be the Batman's head. LOL.
ReplyDeleteI'd take a Captain jack Sparrow shaped one :-)
ReplyDeleteOne of the places I teach sells a lot of Hello Kitty guitars. Sadly, they are not shaped like a cat head.
ReplyDeleteWhatever possessed you is, hopefully, not contagious. I have a visceral aversion to Noisy Toys. My kids are noisy enough already!
ReplyDeletei think maybe you owe your husband.
ReplyDeletealso, you may as well start getting ready for middle school band practice, since she has the music bug. i favor acoustics [son played electric bass, and his band was LOUD], but must admit that daughter's sax wasn't a quiet instrument, either.
I WISH I could wear a dress shaped like that, but I'm about double the age I should be to do so.
ReplyDeleteThis is just how I ended up with the cursed Wii (and I know it's fine in your house. My theory is that boys react differently, e.g. become totally obsessed.) - on a whim at vacation time. My error was that I am the one who is home with them.
I'm all for musical instruments, though, because I am trying to right my personal wrongs.
I came this close to getting one of those things.
