She goes where angels fear to tread

I'm so glad I drink my tea straight up, because this is an actual email I had to send out last week:
Yo! Buy your own milk!

Someone opened a brand new unopened bottle of milk from Ronnybrook – and drank some. This was someone else’s milk! If you didn’t buy it, if you didn’t put it in the fridge, it’s not yours!

Be nice.

Besides, the office provides FREE coffee, tea and sugar – because they aren’t perishable. Milk is your responsibility.

There are now eleventy-four containers of milk in the office fridge. Do they behave better in your office?

  1. How many containers of breast milk? I used to store that in the office fridge, and nobody ever bothered it.

  3. I am having bad bad flashbacks of my old HR days...and feeling like I was babysitting grown people who acted like infants while at work.

  4. I have a friend who, when someone kept stealing her office milk, started labeling the containers "breast milk." Problem solved.

I keep forgetting to bring my own cream in for my coffee, but they have Mini Moos at the office. I shudder a little each time I use them at what must be in there to keep it from needing refrigeration. obviously something that affects the memory.

My husband used to bring a case of soda in, but it was always gone in a matter of days, so he started keeping it under his desk in his private office. Even then it would disappear. He didn't mind sharing, but would get mad when someone would take the last one.

  6. At my old office, the cafeteria actually did provide milk for the small kitchens on each floor. But we still got notices yelling at us to clean our old stuff out of the fridge or it would be tossed for us.

  7. I work at home so don't have to worry about all of that -- well, except for my family....

  8. If you're going to steal milk, at least wait until it's open. Amateurs!

  10. I work out of my house. And no, the people here do not behave any better : )

  11. Well, since I work from home? I sometimes notice that someone of the other two who live here might return an empty jug to the top shelf in the fridge. That's kind of annoying.

  12. I was gonna suggest what Harriet suggested. They are better behaved in my office, actually. Nobody has drunk my tiny V8s or my pinapple juices. Everyone here drinks soda (blech) and frozen "Healthy" Choice-type meals (extra blech). My hummus sandwich is safe.

  13. one time, someone took a bite of someone else's sandwich...then put it back in the baggie. The woman went ballistic!

  14. I totally don't play well with others and use my own fridge with my own milk, thank-you-very-much. I've left many a nasty note in the fridge before that.
