Eleven Into Fifty Minus Ten Equals ONE

ACK! I have only a month left to:

1. Finish Gödel, Escher, Bach, which means reading about two-thirds since I'm stuck at about a third of the way in.

2. Finish the damned baby quilt.

4. Run more - I got hung up on about week 5 of Couch to 5K in 9 weeks.

5. Pick up the damned ukulele.

6. Order the damned blog books from Blog2Print.

7. Finish the sweater! This might actually happen: the body is done, and I'm about halfway down the first sleeve. The buttonholes will probably be my undoing, unless I back the placket with grosgrain and put the buttonholes in by machine.

10. The likelihood of getting to Washington, DC before the year is out is extremely slim; but it's not going anywhere.

11. Have one more potluck party - either something Christmas-y, or maybe a 50th birthday party. You'll come, right?

  1. sure! we'll be sure you run around the block, pick up a ukelele and strum, order the blog thing, look at pictures of DC, and finish the baby quilt.

although you'll still turn 50 if some of that doesn't happen, and you'll still be your great self.

  2. We were supposed to go to DC this year too, and it didn't happen. If you have to pick one, I vote for the ukulele!

  3. I promised everyone I would perform Mozart's Fantasia in D minor on the piano at my birthday party to force myself to practice. I did. It was great. Guess how much I've played since last June?

  5. I think we should work the word "damn" into more sentences. I find it quite cathartic. When's your birthday????

  6. I'll come and I'll bring . . . hmm--it's tough to know what to bring to a great cook's potluck!

  7. Ooh... a potluck party... Fun. I've been thinking I need to do an open house type thing. I've been itching to bake and cook lots, but I need more people around to share.

    Good luck with the list!

I can't help with anything but the last one.

I thought this was a grand idea eleven months ago, but now I think you should make a list of some things you did do this year that you never expected to, or something.

  12. I got hung up on run 3 of Week 1 attempting to do the Couch to 5K. I can't even blame it on the cold weather since we have a treadmill at work. Sigh.
