The sky in PEI is big and beautiful. We were on our way to dinner, on PEI at dusk, somewhere between Panmure Island and Murray Harbour, and this little rainbow appeared between the trees. Later, after dark, the bright moon lit up a plane's contrail - something I think I've never before seen at night.

Lovely! I saw something like that on Monday morning, sitting on my deck reading the paper. It was a band of rainbow in a cloud formation.
Lovely photo, Maggie. I hope Earl was not too rough on them last weekend.
T.
I thought a lot about the sky when I was on vacation, and about other skies on other vacations. I think the colors and the light is extraordinary on the outer Cape. I saw cloud formations in the Rocky Mountains that I'd never see here. I don't think I could get away with saying that I don't spend enough time mooning over the sky in my day to day life, but somehow it is more noticeable on vacation.
Lovely little rainbow among the big trees.
Oooh. Don't get me started on trees....
Ooh, pretty!
Beautiful!
I love when the clouds and sky are such a major part of the landscape.
sweet.
We've always called little rainbows like that "Sun Dogs" because they follow at his heels. I like seeing them, little scraps of color in the grey.
Shade and Sweetwater,

What a great shot! And I call them 'sundogs' too.
