I love that someone at the Greenmarket took the time to arrange many pints of three different kinds of cherries into a table top quilt. I didn't buy any of those particular cherries, but I did buy two quarts of sour cherries. I'll use one quart for a pie this weekend, and I'll pit and freeze the other quart for a pie in January when it will be an oh so happy reminder of summer.
What kind of pie are you going to make tomorrow?
cow pie?
ReplyDeleteOh, that's gorgeous! I made a blueberry pie last weekend but it was canned blueberry filling. Sometimes I like a ghetto pie.
ReplyDeletethat's gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteBlueberry here. But that is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI made a cherry pie the other week, after you wrote about pie for breakfast. Maybe another one this weekend.
ReplyDeletehmmm ... none! I rarely make pie, instead I'm running away from husband and children and SHOPPING! :)
ReplyDeleteLove that! I'm not making a pie. I'm waiting for someone to make one for ME.
ReplyDeletemmm... sour cherries...
ReplyDeleteProbably a humble pie, sometime in the wee hours. I meant to make a double blueberry after I picked seven pounds, but I ate them all instead. My daughter came across the recipe for an atrocity called s'more pie, which I hope she will forget about.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! Someone was feeling artistic.
ReplyDeletedamn, that's beautiful
ReplyDeleteSo very cool.
ReplyDeleteBlueberry cobbler is on the menu I believe.
I love the cherries!
ReplyDeleteI'm not planning to make a pie tomorrow. I've been doing my best to avoid using the oven in this heat wave. Our house is hot enough as it is!
So beautiful! No pie, I'll just nibble on some baby thigh. Mmmmm, juicy!
ReplyDeleteNo pie making here tomorrow (it is too hot for us Portlanders this week, bu then anything above 80 makes us wilt). Instead I will attend a 6th birthday and eat "scooby dooby doo" cake (as requested by the birthday boy).
ReplyDeleteTotally cool that someone took the time to weave that.
ReplyDeletethat's beautiful! I made a peach pie last week. It was inhaled quickly.
ReplyDeleteLook how fun that is! I think I would feel sad to buy any and break up the lovely arrangement.
ReplyDeleteI don't do pie crust -- I know my limitations. Plus, too damned hot. Barbecue pie or nothin'. (plus, is it just me or does pie talk really bring out the commenters?)
ReplyDeleteI used to make pies from scratch, but I really don't have it in my anymore. Maybe again someday. I love this picture, though. I'd like to have it hanging in my kitchen.
ReplyDeleteNo pie making in my immediate future. Will pay a visit to our local farmer's market though. Thanks for the inspiration.
ReplyDeleteIf I WERE gonna, it'd be lemon meringue, of course.
ReplyDeletemmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!!!
I don't like cherries, but I do love that pic!
