Right Now

Right now, the girl is watching television after a day of playing hooky - "my throat hurts, Mama". I think she just needed some mommy time, so I took her to work with me.

Right now, I'm drinking a glass of unoaked Chardonnay and feeling glad that the day is nearly over.

Right now, the sun is low in the sky but still bright - the tree trunks are sunlit, their leaves are radiant green, and blue peeps out behind the glow.

Right now, my heart aches for a friend.

Right now, all's right with the world, and so much isn't.

My heart aches for that friend, too, and for another who is suffering now.

Life is like that too often.

Life is like that, period. Best bet is to appreciate the good.

I like how you've illuminated some of the pleasures amongst some of the pains.

what happened to your friend? There is so so much wrong with the world that sometimes I'm so overwhelmed with sadness over it, I find it hard to smile.

Sorry for your friend's medical struggles. But happy for your chardonnay appreciation of a daytime sky's colorful farewell.

it seems it always is that way -- right and not right -- glad you had some time with your girl, a good chardonnay and that things with your friend improve.

or as some of my friends are saying, struggling with a cancer diagnosis, normal and not normal.

i hope things are OK for your friend's beloved. and for my friends.

but i also think we need to see the lovely and the beauty of the mundane -- that life does shine through, even in the hard and worrisome times, and we only do have one life.

Isn't that the way of the world? Things are right and not all at once.

A slice, always offers the sweet and tart. Best wishes to your friend.
