The News From My Bed

What's in my bed right now:
  • Two books that I'm reading (Naming Day in Eden and Absolute Beginners).
  • The New Yorker that came today.
  • A box of Kleenex.
  • The arts section of the Times, in case I want to do the crossword puzzle.
  • A pen.
  • My cell phone and the house phone.
  • A rather large stuffed dolphin (or porpoise - I supposed I should know the difference?).
  • A new game for the Wii, called Endless Ocean (which came with the dolphin/porpoise).
  • A microwavable heat wrap, now cold.
  • Me.
What's on the floor right now:
What's downstairs right now:
  • The Robitussin.
  • The jello.
  • The aspirin.
  • The Sudafed.
  • The hot lemonade.
Yeah. I'm sick.

[Post title adapted from that catchy little Bishop Allen tune.]

  2. I'm sick, too. Lots of books; lots of mugs.

I hope you are better soon; unless, of course, you are kind of enjoying the break.

  12. Aww, hugs sugar - I hope you mend swiftly!

I'd bring you some homemade chicken soup...but I'm afraid it would be a bit manky by the time I got there...so I'll just think warm, cozy, healing thoughts at you. They don't go off.

Endless Ocean sounds mindlessly soothing, but I have been hestitant to actually spend money on it.

A stuffed dolphin might change my mind.

  15. Phoebe has complained of stomach, throat pain and I'm praying to God that Ibuprofen and a good night's sleep is the cure all for this.
