Wordless Wednesday: Snow Day
Is there anything better than a snow day on a Wednesday? I think not. We got the valentines done (the secret ones and a pile for the first grade class), I made a pot of chili (with hidden sweet potatoes), I put the laundry away (that had been sitting around since Sunday), we went for a walk, and the kid went over to a friend's house for an impromptu playdate. The mail came, though nothing but bills, and the UPS man delivered some new underpants. (Is there anything weirder than ordering underwear on Amazon?) I even shoveled a path up the driveway, but not the whole thing, because, why?
The only flaw in this lovely day is that the newspaper never got delivered - although it could be buried out there. I'll probably find it in April.
We were forecast to get snow today, but only had some flurries . . . not enough to call a halt to anything at all.
ReplyDeleteIt has never occurred to me that a person could buy underpants from Amazon.
I think the panties in the mail are the icing on a perfect day;)
ReplyDeleteWe haven't gotten much. Snow, that is. Or underwear in the mail, for that matter. Predictions said we'd be getting a good foot or so. (Of snow, not underwear.) But so far we've only gotten about an inch. (We did get diapers from Amazon, though.)
ReplyDeleteThat day sounds pretty near perfect. And I hate going out to buy underwear - it seems such a waste of time. I like the Amazon idea. I like it a lot.
ReplyDeleteNope, there is nothing better than a snow day on a Wednesday. It breaks up the week in the nicest way. I like your Adirondack chairs.
ReplyDeleteI think underwear may be the only thing I have never considered buying from Amazon.
ReplyDeleteso you got past the puritan work ethic guilt? good.
ReplyDeleteIn my ideal world I would be able to take my vacation time by having every Wednesday off. That way I would never have to go to work more than two days in a row.
ReplyDeleteT.
that looks just like what i see out my window RIGHT NOW.
ReplyDeleteThe Weds snow day would've been great here if we hadn't had a Friday snow day. And Saturday,Sunday,Monday and Tuesday...
ReplyDeleteWe've gotten newspapers only on Monday and Tuesday. Mail on Tuesday and today. And though I've seen FedEx trucks, no UPS. It would be nice for JR to have her snow mittens before the snow melts, though w/30 something inches, that may take a while...
I always like to picture invisible snow people sitting in chairs filled with snow. Weird, I know :-)
ReplyDeleteWhy can't we have a work snow day? Oh, that's right - we have great public transportation.
ReplyDeleteShoot.
I LOVE that picture; I can see the two old men sitting side by side in those chairs, their suspenders holding up their faded Lee jeans, not looking at each other, just sitting, together, in the snow.
