It isn't the best photo, but I needed to memorialize the contents of a file drawer of my mother's. There's a file in there labeled "Nuts and Cranks" and another labeled "Madness". I don't even know what's in them, but it doesn't much matter, does it? Sometimes you can judge the book by its cover.

I love it! Actually, I'm very curious to know what's in them. I would have to open them immediately upon discovery.
I think I love your mother.
Shade and Sweetwater,
K
Oh I love this. She makes file folders like I do. Sticking labels on over previous labels, reusing folders, handwriting things on. It turns into a real mess after awhile, but ... what character!
Your mother was a treasure. No doubt about it. Just looking through that photoessay you gave me the link to last summer was a journey in itself.
T.
i'm working on cleaning our office/computer room today and have been filing things. I think I may need to create some more file folders, because I don't think any of mine have nearly as interesting titles
I would pay you for the privilege of sorting out her belongings, but I'd never get anything much accomplished.
Your mother could have been one of my best friends. I love these.
wonderful, indeed! how can you have not looked through them yet?
i'm also curious about "stuff," but that was obviously less interesting stuff.
madness, local history, nuts & cranks...wow. your mom=cool.
Are you KIDDING? You didn't look?!
Back in the magazine (and snail mail) days, we had both a "crazy" file and a "prisons" file for the wackadoo letters we received.
Oh man! I would totally need to look. AND, I am thinking of starting a "nut and crank" file of my own...for my children. Love it :)
Well *I* am curious about Nuts and Cranks. I mean, really. What would she have filed in there? Clippings of News of the Weird?
Is that my file cabinet? That lady is da bomb.
Too amazing and fabulous. I love the file called 'stuff.'
I need to imitate this immediately.
the labels itself are too tempting...
You really should look. Those are too tempting to leave unread!
I really, really am curious here.
would have enjoyed knowing your mother!
like I needed another reason to go rifling through your mother's house?
The 'A' folder in my filing cabinet is 'Aborted attempts at something literary'. Kindred spirits.
yes, i am in love.
