Starting And Flying

My first blog posts were on 23 July 2006 - three years ago today. Somehow, it seems fitting that I'm getting on a plane to Chicago later, to fly to the BlogHer conference for the second time. What's more: I am tickled and grateful to have won one of the Blogher Johnson & Johnson sweepstakes - so my trip is covered. Phew!

Despite Thoreau's admonition to "beware of all enterprises that require new clothes", I've done something I've never done before: I had a pedicure. Somehow, it seemed like the right time to use the gift certificate I got for Christmas.

To keep you busy while I'm gone, I filched a meme from Schmutzie: please, if you would be so kind, leave me a comment answering these three four questions.
  1. What is your website url?
  2. Where are you from in real life?
  3. What do you want to be when you grow up?
  4. Should I keep my blogroll? It's gotten out of hand and out of date.

And, if you're going to be in Chicago, find me!

  3. Wow, how awesome. Have a great (free!) trip.

    2. At the moment, the Chicago area. But I've lived in 6 states and 3 countries and have held something like 27 addresses, so I don't really think of myself as from anywhere in particular.

    3. I have to grow up?

    4. I like blogrolls and I surf through them from time to time. Mine's out of control too, although I've attempted to categorize it somewhat. I don't think the length of blogrolls matters much. Either people look at them or they don't.

Did you like your pedi? I've been craving one lately. Such an indulgence.

    4. No. But you should highlight blogs you like or posts you like in your posts.

  12. I'm at http://coffeejitters.net/blog

I grew up in Alaska, although I live in Seattle now.

I'm still unsure, which is why it is taking me 20 years to complete my bachelors degree. Maybe just less confused.

The whole blogroll thing is a tough one. Mine is completely outdated as well, i think some of the blogs are even shut down. On the other hand, I found some of my favorite blogs on other people's blogrolls. The blogroll is the first thing I look at when I visit a new blog, it gives me an idea of what you appreciate in other people. I know that didn't answer your question, but that's all i got for now.

have fun at BlogHer. I wish I could be there.

    2. Where are you from in real life?
I currently reside in Georgia. Where I'm from is classified - the mother ship might try to come collect me.

3.What do you want to be when you grow up?
That assumes I intend to grow up. If I MUST grow up, then I'd like to be decently paid and published - often.

    4. Should I keep my blogroll? It's gotten out of hand and out of date.
Keep it, but update it...I like cruising other blogger's rolls and finding new sites to read and adore.

    Have fun at BlogHer!

I want to say yes to the blog roll. If I like a blog, I go through their blog roll thinking I'll probably like someone they like...that's how I found your blog.
