When the gypsy tells your fortune by gazing into her crystal ball, is everything upside down?
I had half a mind to filch Fond of Snape's "What Is It Wednesday" conceit, but I haven't the energy. Anyway, the crystal ball above isn't actually cropped from a bigger picture, instead, it's a detail of a bigger object.
Perhaps the most stunning topiary that De and I saw the other day was a huge boxwood elephant that you can sit on. It's got iron steps up to an iron howdah, complete with cushioned seat and crystal finials, and it squirts water out of its trunk. My five year old would have climbed up and not come down. It was fetching. And I loved the way the finials turned the house upside down.
Oh, I can't wait for you to see the picture I cropped WIIW from...SO pretty, just like yours!
ReplyDeletetres cool! and no, you could never have pried her off of there, no way no how.
ReplyDeleteI want one! My hubs has taken to playing with the boxwood trimmer, doing a bit of sculpting. All I want for Christmas....
ReplyDeleteI loved that shot when I saw it. I envy your eye.
ReplyDeleteVery cool. I wish I had something like that in my backyard. I have a gazing ball but it keeps moving. Not sure why that is. Fairies pick it up and move it around when I'm not looking.

ReplyDeleteI really think I need one of those in my backyard. I could sit up there with my laptop, even. Home office howdah.
ReplyDeletefetching indeed. Mad's M would go nuts for it, too, I bet!
ReplyDeleteOh, I think EVERY backyard needs on of those :D
ReplyDeleteAlas, I was just about to show it to her when her bedtime milk went flying. I'll have to call it up again tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteAs for me, I loved it and would definitely climb it and refuse to come down.
