Because Niobe asked because I asked, I have blue eyes. Sometimes dark, verging towards purple. Sometimes a clear medium blue. But always blue.
Apparently this means that I'm distantly related to every single other person with blue eyes.
How about you?
blue!
ReplyDeleteYour eyes are a beautiful color. My husband I have hazel eyes, but our daughter has blue, which I believe she inherited from my side as there are many blue eyed people on my side of the family. So I guess this means we are related : )
ReplyDeletemy husband and i both have hazel eyes [light brown, gold, greenish mixtures] -- in each case, a combo of brown and blue parental units. one of my sisters has brown; 2 sisters have blue. our son has brown; daughter has blue.
ReplyDeletedaughter's eyes are the most interesting -- she had a birthmark on one of her irises, so when she was young, one eye was 1/2 bright blue, and 1/2 brown. the birthmark faded, so now she has regular blue eyes.
My eyes, like the rest of me, are wishy-washy - they change color like some folks change socks. Green (rarely), grey (more often), blue (on occasion), or (usually) some combination of the above. Aquarians can't make up their minds about anything.
ReplyDeleteShade and Sweetwater,
K
its hazel and black in the family...
ReplyDeletebut only mine is towards the lighter shades.
hey there distant relative! politica and I both have blue eyes. CG has gorgeous dark brown ones.
ReplyDeleteHazel. I had an old boyfriend tell me once (he was a (bad) poetic type) that they looked like old copper pennies.
ReplyDeleteMy daughter, though, had bright blue eyes (passed down from one of her grandfathers)until she was four. Then they rapidly shifted to green.
Hello cousin!
ReplyDeleteI am the only greenie in a houseful of blueys!!!
ReplyDeleteBrown eyes here. My family and my husband's family has a very complex eye color phenotype. My MIL and FIL both have blue eyes but several of their kids have brown. My dad and mom have hazel eyes. I and my husband have brown and so does Evan. Harry has greenish in the middle with slate blue on the outer edges so I am not really sure what to officially consider his eye color.
ReplyDeleteI have green eyes and my husband has brown. Together we produced a blue eyed girl.
ReplyDeleteBut more importantly, you have no wrinkles. And that's just NOT fair. ;-)
ReplyDeleteMine are a steely blue. Josh's are hazel. The kids are both blue-eyed.
ReplyDeleteBrown. Snore.
ReplyDeleteBrown eyes, but the lighter, ambery brown. My mom is hazel eyed and my dad brown eyed.
ReplyDeleteThe Man of course has Filipino, dark, dark brown eyes, almost black. So the girls are dark brown eyed--but not as dark as his. SC's look more Asian in shape. And JR, who has the luck in all such things, has the long, long, lashes...
We're related then, because my mom has blue eyes.
ReplyDeleteMine are hazel, but Calder has blue eyes, and so do Elba and Gemma (Elba's a pale blue, like a winter sky; Gemma's are more like an autumn lake). Wilder's eyes are hazel, but greener than mine.
Boring brown. Although in the sun they are the exact same color as my hair.
ReplyDeleteWell alrighty then, Cuz.
ReplyDeleteAnother member of the family here.
ReplyDeleteGreen. Circled with brown.
ReplyDeleteand half-blind. ;-)
Hey sis.
ReplyDeleteWHAT???!! You're my cousin??
ReplyDelete;-D
I'm visiting from Niobe's post. I'm glad you got this all started, I have been enjoying these posts.
ReplyDeleteYou have a pretty shade of blue. I wish the picture would have picked up the violet, that is a color I haven't noticed in an eye before.
My post is here: http://raspberrychip.blogspot.com/2009/02/eyes.html
Yours are beautiful. I just posted mine. Sadly, we are not related.
ReplyDeleteLight blue verging on steel grey. Sister!
