Why is it that her wind-up giraffe plays “Happy Days are Here Again”? It’s a kid’s toy. All she knows are happy days.

Not sure we're supposed to know the answer to that question.
Because we are all reincarnated and children have to be reminded that they have another chance and they better not blow it this time. Unfortunately, their brains are re-wired to forget all their past life transgressions. Figures, don't it. Explains why these children are so MEAN to us at bedtime.
One of life's many mysteries, I guess.
To hearmy kids? Theyd bef to differ. Or maybe it is the early onset adolescent attitude that hits at 3, and 6, and 8 and 10, 11, 12, 13, 14 ---> I think oyu get the drift. ;)
(Dude I totally started humming the TV show theme song. You mean that old fashioned song "Happy Days are here again!" don't you.)
Apparently? I can neither READ nor TYPE. My eyes quit after you wrote "Happy Days" or something.
The typos? I blame the cat and 3 year old who are competing for my lap and hands.
And my frequent sneezes because officially the benzene levels are up and apparently I'm allergic to my house.
If it played the "happy days" television theme song, I'd have to put it in the trash immediately.
as a person with zero musical ability, I think it's because the song is fairly easy to sing musically, with simple lyrics, and therefore supposed to appeal to children. yawn.
Sometimes they have dark moments among their happy days, though. I still remember my young niece on her birthday, tearfully proclaiming, "This is the WORST part of the best day of my life!!"
Aw, come on Mommy, this is an easy one. The giraffe plays that song to remind YOU to have a happy day. And just in case you don't get the message right away, it's going to tell you over and over and over and over and over...
I think it's for when it becomes an heirloom. Or for when she takes it with her to college.
Because in general, people are stupid?
Huh. Maybe it's more for the giraffe?
Word verification KNOWS ME. My word was "OCD"!!!!
Um HELLLOOOO
it's a rhetorical giraffe!
It's hard being a toy giraffe. Not only does the kid abuse it, but the long neck makes it the perfect toy for the cat to drag all over the house. And the cat has catfood breath. It's a sarcastic giraffe.
The toy giraffe is part of the Tin Pan Alley FunTime Jungle. If I'm not mistaken, the hippo plays "Swanee."
