Despite the fact that Miss M. is now FOUR, we have a sweet little board book that still comes out from time to time. It's called Bear and Kite and it's a quick poem of opposites, in which all of the second words rhyme:
Bear and kiteBest of all? The author is Cliff Wright.
Black and white
Play and fight
Loose and tight
Wrong and right
Day and night.
Ooh, I like.
ReplyDeleteToo bad my kids are too old for it. Perhaps the grandkids? ;)
Hey Persistence might like that!
ReplyDeleteOur faves are the Hondo and Fabian books.

Happy Children’s Book Week!
ReplyDeleteOne option to celebrate this week is with a green children’s book.
Eco-Libris blog brings a recommendation on The Tiny Seed by Eric Carle (written by Stefani Newman of teensygreen). It’s a great conversation starter about nature, the seasons, and helps kids open their eyes to the world outside.
You are welcome to read it at:

ReplyDeleteHappy Children's Book Week :)
ReplyDeleteI'm now typing with my fingers instead of my nose, the tiredness wore off. Maybe I just got my second wind.
It's been a tough day.
Two trips to the gym, because a girlfriend begged me to go with, now I'm paying for it.

Nice.
ReplyDeleteMonkey wrote a book last Friday that I actually really like. We are going to scan the pages and try for a photobook. We should be all set with grandparent-type gifts for the holidays. :)
As I was writing that post, I thought to myself "bear and kite aren't opposites, and someone might call me on it". I should have guessed that Niobe would be the one!
