How to Cook Bacon

This looks like a third grade science essay - how matter changes with temperature. But bacon! Toast! Melted butter! Toast for breakfast was an illicit treat, at least on school days. Normally, we had cold cereal for breakfast, with brown sugar. We only got toast if everyone was running late.

That's weird to me. It seems like it would take longer to make toast than cereal!

Young Maggie, (when I write that I feel like I'm talking to a past self of mine. Very odd feeling...) I love your logic. "When you come down, it used to be soft, now hard." It's just the way things happen! Moms toast, and we come down. I also appreciate the nuances. "First you take some bacon, not cooked. Then you cook the bacon." Very detail oriented.

  3. Despite the poetry in Maggie's work, the poor kid got a zero.
