Yesterday, Miss M. and Granny and I went to my niece's fifth birthday party. The party favors were little bags of homemade heart-shaped cookies, iced and sprinkled in pink and white and red.
We drove home from Granny's house today, and broke out the cookies along the way. I handed one back to Miss M. with white piping along the edge. A little while later, she asked for another and I gave her one with red icing. She then announced "I don't like this". I reached back, without looking, expecting cookie #2. But no. I got the now damp cookie #1, with all of its decoration scraped and licked off. I ate it. After all, what else is Mom for? Oh, let me count the ways...

I love that you ATE IT. Such a mom thing to do! Nothing our babies' bodies produce is too gross for us.
